HOLIDAY MAGIC 2013, PART 1 Holiday Magic Project Sending 7,000+ CDs To Children's Hospitals Worldwide November 25, 2013  (VOXtra) - Now in its 11th year,
the Children’s Holiday Magic Project is gearing up for another season of
spreading the joy of music to thousands of children in hospitals around the
world. With the generous support of donors and sponsors, including many in the voice over community, the Project will soon begin shipping more than 7000 CDs to children’s hospitals around the world, sharing the gift of entertainment to those who are coping with challenges that are difficult at any age. "Our goal is to brighten the season for families who are spending the holidays in children’s hospitals," says Jeff Gelder, president and founder of Children’s Holiday Magic Project, and owner of Gelderhead Audio Productions in San Diego. "This is a labor of love that is received with much joy by children who are unfortunately spending the holiday season in a hospital setting.” Children’s Holiday Magic Project Inc. is a San Diego-based, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to brighten the lives of children of all ages through the gift of songs and stories. Gelder adds, "We greatly appreciate all donations, since the more donations we receive, the larger number of families that will be receiving a CD this holiday season.” DECEMBER LAUNCH & DELIVERY ... Upcoming activities supporting the Children’s Holiday Magic Project include: CD Launch Event & Fundraiser Dinner. Live Performances, dinner and silent auction, Wed., Dec. 4; doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m., at Martini’s Above Fourth table & stage, 3940 Fourth Avenue, San Diego. Jeff and his volunteers play Santa’ annually at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego with singing led by Karl Anthony and delivering CDs to patients room to room, planned for December 12 at 10a.m. THIS YEAR'S HOLIDAY STORY ... Each year, the CD has an original holiday tale that combines songs and stories submitted by world-renowned music and voice over talents. Often, the music reflects diverse backgrounds, with selections in several languages, including English, Spanish, Italian and Cantonese. This year’s compilation recording is titled "Holiday Magic, A Gift for Children of all Ages 2013. The tale is shared by Jeffery the reindeer and Santa Claus as they make their way from the North Pole to visit the children. They are joined by a host of characters, including Jeffery’s cousin Carlito who lives at the San Diego Wild Animal Park, Kate the adventurous reindeer from Milwaukee, Mrs. Claus, and Master Elf Thalion who runs Santa’s workshop. This year’s story theme is LOVE. Children will learn what happens when Carlito meets the new reindeer Trixie, and Jeffery and Kate become just a bit mischievous. BEGAN IN 2003 The first Holiday Magic CD was produced in 2003 when Gelder was tasked to come up with a project for a Landmark Education class called Self Expression and Leadership that would enhance the community and ultimately take on a life of its own. That’s exactly what has happened. "We have requests from hospitals around the country and we field inquiries about the CD all year long,” he explains. Past talent has included Broadway actress and singer Ashley Fox Linton, renowned Hollywood voice-over talent Marc Graue, award-winning actress and singer Nichelle Nichols (Lt. Uhura-Star Trek) and her actress sister Marian Michaels, and Sam Bass of KyXy 96.5fm, plus many more. STILL NEED DONATIONS Donations are accepted throughout the year.
