There's a wide world of microphones out there, and sometimes the landscape can get a bit confusing. Spoken word recording is a unique challenge, and there are many avenues available to us in trying to capture "honest" audio.

One avenue often overlooked by voice actors is the flexibility afforded us with multi-pattern microphones. Has anyone ever told you that you don't need to worry about polar patterns for spoken word recordings? If so, they were wrong.

Thank you so much for that! When I have asked about adjustable patterns I got a (figurative) pat on the head and told "you don't need to worry about that." I am looking at another mic for the locker and now I am much more informed!
